Systems Developer / Administrator

This position is based at the INCF Secretariat at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. The position

We are looking to hire a talented Systems Developer / Systems Administrator who is interested in supporting development of new solutions, services, and tools for INCF activities, and who will have the overall responsibility for the development and maintenance of IT infrastructure at the INCF Secretariat. We are particularly interested in candidates familiar with open source software development, and social media. The successful candidate will work closely with our associated researchers, and therefore experience from research environments is an advantage.


  • Research, evaluate and recommend technologies to support requests from the research community
  • Perform development work and installation of new services
  • Perform a wide range of system administration duties at the INCF Secretariat
  • Oversee and maintain all internal IT infrastructure and anticipate future needs
  • Work with IT contractors and pro-actively monitor services provided by them


  • Skills in software development and experience with open-source software development
  • Knowledge and experience with web technologies and development
  • Knowledge and experience with Linux and Windows systems administration
  • Social media experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Effective information acquisition strategies
  • Very good knowledge of English, in oral and written communication. Good knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

Level of Education

Higher Diploma, Master’s Degree


Initial period of 2 years, may be extended.
